Artist Statement: I have a habit of working intuitively with my work by responding visually to different marks in space. My goal for this piece was to combine different media into one wall-arranged artwork. Different types of paper, thread, cotton sheet, oil paint, acrylic paint, charcoal, and graphite were the mediums I used, layering them a little at a time. I invite viewers to reflect on the theme of collaboration with this artwork, showing how arrangements can lead to relation that can further emphasize a whole.

I discovered that I really enjoy arranging/curating art, especially textile works. I the textile works I displayed felt like another extension of my expression. My favorite quick challenges were the Thread/Fabric/Yarn Challenge and the Draw on Objects Challenge. These challenge matched up well with how I intuitively create, I definitely want to work more in this way.

Artist Statement:

A presence, flowing from top to bottom that is clean and imperfect on the outside. In the inside, the tenderness and vulnerability is revealed with similar lines shown on the exterior. I did not realize until after, how much this presence reflects me and my character.
