Diversity Banners

Personal Banner
Express Yourself
Spray Paint, Oil, Acrylic & Charcoal on Canvas
32.5" X 44"

I had an idea to cut out old paintings I had and collage them on to my personal banner. The idea came about after my initial idea about spray painting personal banner didn't come out how I envisioned. The collage ended up flowing visually, emphasizing the decisions I made on how I arranged my art on the banner.

Club Banner
The Brainstorm Is Coming
Felt & Acrylic
30" X 40"

For the AIGA Club Banner, I wanted to emphasize the process of Graphic Design. With Alaina, the club president, we came up with using a text box and a duplicated image to get across commonly used actions in the graphic design process.

Surface Pattern Design

Uroko
Acrylic on Canvas
19.5" X 30"

My goal of this piece was to achieve representation through simple geometric shapes. Inspired my sister moving to Kyoto, Japan, I decided to make a piece based triangles that represent scales in Japanese culture. I want to keep exploring different shapes meanings in different cultures.

Uroko (Scales of a fish/snake/dragon) [Inspired by a dragon kimono I got as a gift from my uncle]

Braid by Hoko Tokoro (French Lattice inspired)
